All About the Bills: Sen. Thatcher, SB 103

Sometimes it takes more than a year to get a bill through; I’ve been working on the victim targeting bill for four years straight. When a crime is intentionally and deliberately targeted at an individual because of who they are, it is a threat to that entire community and a crime against that entire community and to society as a whole. Having a functional and enforceable hate crimes statute in the state of Utah is a really big deal. – Sen. Daniel Thatcher
