Proposed bill seeks to require lobbyists to take harassment training

SB 147, sponsored by Sen. Don Ipson, would require lobbyists to take an annual training course relating to harassment. The bill also prohibits a lobbyist from engaging in harassment, retaliating against an individual for filing or cooperating with an investigation into a harassment complaint and provides penalties for lobbyists who violate the provisions in the bill.

Legislative and executive branch staff are required to take annual harassment training, though lobbyists are not currently subject to the same requirement. The bill passed both the House and Senate, and was sent to the governor for his consideration. You can read or check out audio/video of the bill here.
