Each person’s journey to this day was unique. Though in harmony, 125 people from more than 47 countries took an oath to become U.S. citizens at a naturalization ceremony at the Utah State Capitol today.
The Oath of Allegiance was administered by Laura McNeer, field office director for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The Rotunda resounded as Cyd Vernon performed the national anthem. The new citizens were encouraged to be actively engaged in their community and to participate in future local, state and national elections to voice their opinion. Following the ceremony, on-site voter registration was available. Congratulations to America’s newest citizens! Tags: America’s newest citizens, naturalization ceremonyCongratulations
