Virtual Advice and Consent

In accordance with Utah Code, the Senate reviews and approves the governor’s nominations for vacant public positions. The Senate confirmed the following appointments on May 13, 2020 during the first-ever virtual advice and consent:


Central Utah Water Conservancy District Board of Trustees

Jim Riding is appointed to replace Tom Dolan as a member of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District Board of Trustees, a term to expire January 31, 2024. See Utah Code § 17B-2a-1005.

Al Mansell is reappointed as a member of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District Board of Trustees, a term to expire January 31, 2024. See Utah Code § 17B-2a-1005.


Uintah Basin Technical College Board of Directors

Annette Meier is appointed to replace Dan Karren as a member of the Uintah Basin Technical College Board of Directors, a term to expire June 30, 2024. See Utah Code § 53B-2a-108.

Aaron W. Brown is appointed to replace Meagin Mohar as a member of the Uintah Basin Technical College Board of Directors, the remaining portion of the term to expire December 31, 2022. See Utah Code § 53B-2a-108.


Labor Commission Appeals Board

Erik Strindberg (D) is appointed to replace Joseph Hatch (D) as a member of the Labor Commission Appeals Board, the remaining portion of the term to expire February 28, 2023. See Utah Code § 34A-1-205.


State Records Committee

Nancy R. Dean is appointed to replace Cindi Mansell as the Utah League of Cities and Towns member on the State Records Committee, a term to expire May 31, 2024. See Utah Code § 63G-2-501.


Search and Rescue Advisory Board

Anna Rae Garrett is reappointed to the Search and Rescue Advisory Board, a term to expire June 30, 2023. See Utah Code § 53-2a-1103.


Board of Tourism Development

Jim Powell is appointed to replace Ryan Starks as the representative from Juab, Summit and Wasatch County on the Board of Tourism Development, the remaining portion of the term to expire Junes 30, 2021. See Utah Code § 63N-7-102.


Utah Indigent Defense Commission

Heather J. Schriever is appointed to replace Nicole Cottle as the representative from Utah League of Cities and Towns member of the Utah Indigent Defense Commission, the remaining portion of the term to expire June 15, 2022. See Utah Code § 78B-22-402.


Board of Pardons and Parole

Marshall M. Thompson is appointed to replace Angela Micklos as a full-time member of the Board of Pardons and Parole, a term to expire February 28, 2025. See Utah Code § 77-27-2.



Utah State Fair Corporation Board of Directors

Jennifer Seelig is reappointed as a member of the Utah State Fair Corporation Board of Directors, a term to expire June 1, 2024. See Utah Code § 63H-6-104.


Utah Department of Commerce

Christopher Ryan Parker is appointed to replace Francine Giani as the executive director of the Utah Department of Commerce. See Utah Code § 13-1-3.


Utah Department of Agriculture and Food

R. Logan Wilde is appointed to replace LuAnn Adams as the commissioner of the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food. See Utah Code § 4-2-104.


Central Utah Water Conservancy District Board of Trustees

Joseph Havasi is appointed to replace Todd Bingham as a member of the Great Salt Lake Advisory Council, a term to expire June 1, 2024. See Utah Code § 73-30-201.

Paul T. Smith is appointed to replace Fred J. Jex as a member of the Utah State Development Center Board, the remaining portion of the term to expire May 10, 2022. See Utah Code § 62A-5-202.5.

Scott B. Pingree is reappointed a member of the Utah State Development Center Board, a term to expire May 10, 2024. See Utah Code § 62A-5-202.5.

Kris Poulson is appointed to replace John Ulibarri II as a member of the Real Estate Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board, a term to expire July 1, 2024. See Utah Code § 61-2g-204.

Jeffrey Morley is reappointed as a member of the Real Estate Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board, a term to expire July 1, 2024. See Utah Code § 61-2g-204.

Jim Bringhurst is appointed to replace Russell Booth as a member of the Real Estate Commission, a term to expire June 30, 2024. See Utah Code § 61-2f-103.


Diné Advisory Council

Jenae Herrera is appointed to replace Wyona Atene as a member of the Diné Advisory Council, as nominated by the Oljato Chapter, a term to expire June 30, 2024. See Utah Code § 51-10-206.


State Money Management Council

Scott R. Burnett (R) is appointed to replace Mark Hill (U) as a member of the State Money Management Council, a term to expire March 1, 2023. See Utah Code § 51-7-16.


Utah Digital Health Services Commission

Matthew L. McCullough is appointed to replace Peter Hannon as a member of the Utah Digital Health Services Commission, the remaining portion of the term to expire October 1, 2021. See Utah Code § 26-9f-103.

Sarah Woolsey (U) is reappointed as a member of the Utah Health Data Committee, a term to expire June 30, 2024. See Utah Code § 26-33a-103.
