Utah Senate Requests Public Comment on 5th District Court Appointees

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee is seeking public comment on Ryan Christiansen and Meb Anderson. They were appointed by Gov. Spencer J. Cox to serve as District Court judges in the 5th District Court.

Those who desire to comment on either nominee should contact the Utah Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee electronically or by mail through the Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Comments via email can be sent to senatejudicialnominees@le.utah.gov. Written comments can be mailed to the Utah Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee at the Utah State Capitol, Suite W210, PO Box 145210, Salt Lake City, Utah 84114-5210. All statements should include the individual’s name, telephone number and mailing address.

The Senate Judicial Confirmation Committee plans to hold a public hearing and then issue a recommendation to the full Senate. If confirmed by the Senate, Mr. Christiansen and Mr. Anderson will fill the vacancies left by the retirement of Judge Eric A. Ludlow on October 1, 2024, and the appointment of Judge Ann Marie Mclff Allen to the United States District Court for the District of Utah on April 15, 2024.
