Homelessness continues to be a growing concern, particularly in our capital city, and its effects are being felt in surrounding areas. Individuals experiencing homelessness are among the most vulnerable, often battling mental health challenges and substance abuse, which can lead to involvement in the criminal justice system or life in unsanctioned encampments.
During the 2026 General Session, we will take significant steps toward addressing homelessness by expanding personalized services to help individuals transition from the streets to stable housing. These efforts are designed to provide the care and support necessary to help those in need rebuild their lives and break the cycle of homelessness, fostering stronger, safer communities for everyone.
